The hunting of defenseless hibernating bears and wolf pups should not be permitted. The laws protecting these animals from these cruel acts were made for a reason, and removing these laws will result in unsportsmanlike conduct with hunting in Alaska. Humans have the benefit of using weapons when hunting, giving an unfair advantage to them when hunting as is. The laws in place were there to even the playing field for these animals and prohibit the hunting of sleeping bears, who can't fight back; and vulnerable wolf pups who have no way of defending themselves against humans. My goal with this petition is to make sure that these animals' rights are being taken into consideration, and that this law allowing the unfair hunting of hibernating bears and wolf pups is not passed. I have always been an advocate for animal rights, and care deeply about treating animals with respect. If this unfair law is passed, these animals will be shown no respect or equality, and it will only prove that humans are selfish and cold-hearted when it comes to their fellow species on this planet. We share the planet with a multitude of animals, and should have the decency to show them the respect they deserve.
