Ban Shark Fin Soup in Queensland

The Petition of the residents of the State of Queensland:

The barbaric and wasteful practise of shark fining claims the lives of hundreds of sharks every year off the coast Queensland. Sharks are being killed and thrown back while still alive to for one reason, Shark fin Soup. Sharks play a major role in the environmental stability of our oceans, without sharks our oceans would die and with it industries such as fishing and tourism. Shark fining is still happening despite being illegal because of the demand for shark fin soup. We must act now and put an end to the slaughter and save our sharks for future generations.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to
Ban the Sale of shark fin soup within the state of Queensland.
