please allow back yard chickens in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

I believe chickens can be in the city limits, the city ordinances should be changed to allow a small number of back yard chickens, alot of major cities are allowing the change with good success, even right here in our own state, Raleigh, chapel hill and Durham, just to name  few, chickens are the perfect pet, they produce eggs, which are far better than store bought! they are superior insect control no ticks! the best fertilizer for gardens, also a properly cleaned and maintained coop poses no sanitation risks. by amending the city ordinance to allow residents to keep a limited number of chickens in the city of Roanoke Rapids will encourage stewardship in the environment and food production on a household scale.
