Tudhoe Grange School is one of the most iconic and architecturally important buildings left in Spennymoor - an important and integral part of this town's history having served maybe 5 generations of students from the Spennymoor and surrounding areas, and, whether from the old days of it being known as The Alderman Wraith (Grammar) School to the very recent days before it's closure as Tudhoe Grange - many of it's students have gone forward in life and become very successful!
The building is a unique treasure that can never be replaced and we HAVE to save it for future generations to enjoy!!! With the present enthusiasm for tracing family trees, and researching local history, I for one wish that I could have seen some of the fascinating buildings which are now 'long gone'! Yet here we are, quietly sitting back and letting them destroy another one when there are so many other alternative uses for it!!!
