She Suffocated Her Cat After Injecting Her With Five Rounds of Human Insulin Medications

We don't know why, but one day a woman in Virginia decided to use human medication on her cat - which began a whole chain reaction of tragedies that ultimately led to the cat's death.

Sign the petition to demand immediate intervention, including a permanent lifetime ban on animal ownership and intensive mental health counseling, now!

Apparently, the woman had a large quantity of insulin intended for humans. She took out 5 multidose pens containing this human-strength medication, held her cat Delilah down, and injected the animal with all 5 of these multidose pens. Predictably, the small animal's body could not handle being flooded with so much medication. So Delilah the cat began to seize, contorting and shaking violently as her body tried to process what was happening to it.

In response, the woman didn't take her cat to the veterinarian. No, instead, she decided to put Delilah out of her misery by smothering her to death. The woman found a plastic grocery bag as well as a cloth, and used these to asphyxiate the animal. Delilah died.

At the court hearing where Delilah's owner was tried for animal cruelty, a veterinarian testified that all evidence suggests that Delilah's death was extremely painful.

Strangely, though, the woman was only sentenced to pay a small fine of $150 and 'restitution' of $556.

This person is clearly not healthy or well. Fining her will not change this. That's why the best way to keep her and others safe in the future is to require intensive mental health counseling. Of course, she must also be banned from being around animals as well. Sign the petition!
