Saving The EMTs That Save You

We need to have EMTs wearing a bright yellow or green neon-colored uniform that makes them more visible from father away and more visible where there are large groups of people. This helps the patients be able to better recognize and comprehend who the EMT is the moment they see them anywhere, most importantly helps them be located in a large crowd. This also provides safety for the EMTs when they are out in public, making them more visible to everyone walking or driving around them. The bright neon-colored uniforms will allow the public to recognize differentiation of EMTs and Law Enforcement officers. Allowing people to instantly recognize the EMTs as medical professionals there to help them rather than Law Enforcement Officers there to hurt them. Currently the uniforms too much resemble that of Law Enforcement Officers making the EMTs subjected to dangerous environments where the presence and fear of Law Enforcement makes what should be a normal patient, become a violent patient, due to associating the visual appearance of the EMTs uniform with that of a Law Enforcement officer. This will be beneficial for patients that have had previous negative experiences with Law Enforcement. Sometimes patients whom have had negative or traumatic experiences with Law Enforcement will resist medical treatment due to the association they have with the uniform the EMT resembling that of a Law Enforcement officer who previously caused them psychological trauma.
