Stop Eviction of Queens Park Elderly Residents

Basildon Council proposes to redevelop a Queens Park site (partially run down) by building more three-story homes and by rehoming elderly residents from homes they have enjoyed for many years. The proposed development will mean a lack of privacy for existing residents as their homes and gardens will be overlooked, it will bring added pressure on local schools and surgeries and will cause noise mess and inconvenience to local residents. On top of this, the elderly community in Queens Park Court will be split up as the residents will be relocated to other sheltered homes in and around the area. All this with little or no consultation with the local people most likely to be affected.
This proposal needs to be scrapped until full and meaningful consultation with local residents and the current residents of Queens Park Court has been carried out.
