On May, 16, 2018 a tragic accident took place. A father of two children was attempting to take his children to school in the rain when his car hydroplaned and hit a school bus with children aboard head on. As a result 19 children from the bus were sent to the emergency room with non life threatening injuries and Lonnie Anderson and his children suffered life threatening and fatal injuries. Lonnie Anderson was transferred to the ICU at Northeast Georgia Medical Center , his son was sent to Children's Hospital for Emergency Surgery, and his Daughter had fatal injuries.
We as a community believe this family has endured enough tragedy and feel as though no charges should be filed in this case aside from minor traffic infractions. This family needs time to heal . This father was doing what parents do when he hydroplaned and was thrust into the path of this School bus. This was not an intentional act , nor one that could be avoided on a slick rainy road. We demand no additional charges be filed against this grieving father, and than any pending charges other than minor trafgic infractions, be dropped.

This petition has has grown steadily since it's first appearance and has over 6000 supporters. It has been shared with local news groups as well as tons of local Social Media pages! Thanks so much for all your love, compassion and support for this family in light of the tragic events that have befallen them. Your support to this family at this time speaks mountains about the wonderful community we are living in.
