If your energy bill have spiked, and you don't know why, you may have been unknowingly had your provider switiched. I have had my electric bill double then triple. Upon reviewing my bill I noticed under my normal provider's name (West Penn Power) was (IDT Energy). I was informed by West Penn that I had been switched to IDT Energy in August of 2012.
Although my billing continued to from West Penn Power, and were paid to West Penn Power,IDT also is listed as a provider. Repeated attempts to contact IDT Energy by phone and e-mail have failed. I was informed by West Penn Power that they can remove IDT Energy but it will take another billing cycle andI must pay the bill to continue to receive service. I was told by the PUC that I must first try to resolve the dispute with IDT before they will take my complaint.
I believe my only recourse is to contact The Pennsylvania State Attorney General and ask that the state hold the energy company's accountable if you agree please sign this petition. It has been a long cold winter and folks have been struggling just to heat the family home. Please don't let unscrupulous utilty company's take bread from our tables. Thank you;
