Stop the Death Toll of Children and Pets in Closed Vehicles

An average of 38 children die each year in the United States as the result of being left unattended in closed vehicles. There are no reliable statistics on the number of dogs who die under the same circumstances, but it is believed to be in the hundreds. This type of abuse, intended or not, must be stopped. Because this is a national problem, it should be addressed on the federal level.
