Educate Our Nation's Youth on the Dangers of Prescription Psychostimulants

This petition is pushing for Federal legislation making it mandatory for all public high schools to hold an annual seminar for the 9th grade students. At this seminar, the dangers of prescription psychostimulant misuse and abuse will be portrayed to the students by rehabilitated prescription psychostimulant addicts, as well as members of local law enforcement. With guest speakers who can explain the consequences of psychostimulant abuse on a first-hand basis and respected community officers, this seminar has the potential to be highly influential among these new high school students. This seminar is vital to students of this age, because they are likely to all be exposed to illegal prescription psychostimulants at some point throughout the next few years of their academic careers. Educating these students before the problem reaches them is critical to preventing our youth from illicit prescription psychostimulant abuse.
