END LIFE SENTENCES IN TENNESSEE

I'm advocating for the end of life sentences in Tennessee as it relates to the juveniles and young adults up to the age of 25 because in Tennessee they're locking it's up at an alarming rate without a meaningful chance to get our freedom back. In Tennessee a person has to serve almost triple the amount of time as any other state of they have a life sentence. The supreme court has ruled on several cases that's sentencing juveniles and young adults to those types of SENTENCES are unconstitutional and violates the 8th Amendment. For those who don't know President Biden and the Clintons passed the legislation that Tennessee is following when it comes to incarcerating our youth with their tough on crime bill they passed in 1995 targeting people of color. So I'm waiting this petition hoping that we can start a Movement that will finally get Tennessee to change it's laws and make them more in line with the rest of the country. Most other states have already changed their laws after the supreme court rulings, now it's time for Tennessee to do the same. Let's go to our local leaders, representatives and grassroots organizations to get them to push for this legislation on Tennessee.
