It should be no surprise that many composers from various genres believe that today's music industry is on the verge of collapse.
This is due to several factors. The most notable 2 being corporate greed from various music groups, record labels, etc, and the rise of AI Slop Content, specifically AI generated music.

In my opinion, the fact that Artificially Generated Music is starting to be embraced and become a new norm is genuinely alarming, and it should be to all artists, or at least to independent artists and those with real talent. This is most likely part of the current music industry's corporations following trends and jumping on the bandwagon in order to make "better" business decisions and follow the cash.

Corporate greed is nothing new to the music industry and has been around for many a decade. However, the greed of media industries like the music and film industries today has led to much controversy. Today you can find that over 50 ghost producers and lyracists were used to compose 1 song for 1 artist. This results in corporations and labels earning more than bands and artists, which I find abhorrent. With this in mind, it is safe to say that it will only get worse for artists, musicians, bands, and producers as AI Generated Music becomes the new norm, which it already is and will most likely be the case in the various media industries.

Therefore I propose that independent musicians, producers, bands, etc, consider breaking away from todays industry and start a new one from scratch that is by the artists and for the artists with no labels, distribution services, or AI involved in the production, arrangement, editing, and mixing phases of music creation. All music in this new industry must be written and distributed by the artist and producers involved. If another artist or producer is involved they must get mentioned and receive the appropriate credit for their involvement.

The only step that AI could be used for is Mastering which is the last step in music production. Everything else before the Mastering phase must be done by humans.

This is not just about defending musicians' rights. This is about defending human creativity which far exceeds that of AI, especially in music. All humans have creative minds. Let's use them!
