Trump's Effort to Weaken the Clean Power Plan Could Cause 1,400 Deaths a Year

President Obama's Clean Power Plan set standards to roll back carbon pollution from existing coal-fired power plants and to hasten their closure.

Now Trump's EPA has come up with a proposal to allow states to set their own emissions standards for coal-fueled power plants, a move that would result in much higher carbon emissions than those mandated in Obama's Plan.

And a close examination of the fine print in the proposal actually acknowledges that Trump's plan would cause up to 1,400 premature deaths every year.

We cannot allow this plan to go forward.
