Jordin Tootoo would be a natural fit for the Winnipeg Jets organization as the first Inuk player to be drafted in the NHL. He played his Junior hockey career with the OCN Blizzard, was a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey team. A former Brandon Wheat King (WHL), although he calls Nunavut home, he was born in Churchill and spent most of his young talented hockey career playing in Manitoba. This would be a huge asset to an already loyal fan base in Winnipeg.
