Tanzania's courts have ruled, twice, that child marriage is unconstitutional. The government lost its appeal in 2019. But years later, it still hasn't changed the actual law. And without that change, nearly 1 in 3 Tanzanian girls are still married before they turn 18.

Our Girls' Empowerment Clubs are on the ground right now, helping girls learn their rights and stay in school instead of getting married off. But real protection means the law finally has to catch up with the courts.
