My name is Candyse Arivett. I chase severe weather with the Twisted Alley Chasers. Based out of Fort Wayne Indiana. It is our mission to make the public aware of tornadoes and other severe weather events. I am concerned that Kokomo Indiana does not have tornado sirens in their town.
August of 2016 a EF3 tornado came through the town. The EF3 destroyed several homes, business, and even put a large piece of wood through a windshield of a car.
May 20th, July 10th, and August 4th where days this year a tornado touched down near or in Kokomo just this year however there is no warning sirens. According to the United State Census Bureau, in 2016 Kokomo had 57,799 residents. So Kokomo is a decently large city. I believe it is only a matter of time that someone is severely injured or worse because the town of Kokomo has no warning sirens in the event of a large tornado. I wrote this petition in order to bring awareness to the issue of not having sirens in this large town that has been hit by a large tornado within the last two years and several others. My mission is to see tornado sirens installed in the city of Kokomo.
