Safe Roads for children

Us parents on Beothuck Crescent, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, have an issue with drivers driving too fast on our street and being careless. There have been too many near incidences of children being hit by vehicles, and we would like to ask to put a sign at the end of both entrances of Beothuck Crescent stating "Caution, Children at Play", as well as an opportunity to lower the speed limit from 50km/hr to 30km/hr. If even possible, it could be helpful to put speed bumps at the ends also. In order to do so, we need to get together, as the caring parents we are, and ask our city to place these necessities on our street so our children can be in a safer environment. We do not have anywhere for the children to play around here. There are no parks/playgrounds that allow them to play. As a Newfoundland Housing tenant, I wish you to understand that in order to be approved for a unit around here, you must have children. Most of the children in this area are under the age of 9. I believe that if we can sign this petition and bring it to City Hall, we may raise our chances of helping our children play safe, and decrease the chances of tragedies.
