Stop senseless slaughtering of bears!

Please join me in petitioning the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission to end the senseless trapping and killing of bears in the Longwood, Florida area in response to an incident between a bear and a woman who was injured. FFW is charged with conserving wildlife - not killing it. Rather than set traps and kill each bear that "meets the general description" of the one bear that was involved, try other alternatives first such as looking at footprints or comparing the DNA from the woman's wounds and target the specific bear. All bears are going to be lured by doughnuts and cake, putting even more bears - and humans - at risk. Florida must do a better job of protecting wildlife, and FWC must stop the senseless killing.
