Scott Lively—the man who says that gay people founded the Nazi Party

 Dear Jelena,

Scott Lively—the man who says that gay people founded the Nazi Party—is accusing us of “trying to incite murder against him.”

HRC deplores violence against any person. Indeed, it is Lively’s words that have put lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people around the world at risk.

This is a man who was instrumental in advocating for an anti-LGBT law in Uganda that could send LGBT people to prison for life. A man who claims that being gay is a “personality disorder.”

Our recent report, The Export of Hate, covers some of the most vitriolic American activists who are promoting bigotry abroad—and they’re clearly taking notice.

Help combat the American export of hate now.Make a one-time gift to the Human Rights Campaign— or make a monthly gift and show your commitment to strengthening the global equality movement.

Anti-LGBT advocates such as Scott Lively, Brian Brown, Sharon Slater and Robert Oscar Lopez are spewing vicious messages of hate abroad because their tactics are finding little traction here at home. And their rhetoric is having a dangerous impact in places where there has been very little public education about the lives of LGBT people.

Get familiar with these faces of hate. They are among some of the most dangerous anti-LGBT advocates in the world—and they are based right here in the U.S.

I urge you to help HRC expose the American export of hate. Your donation now—or even better yoursustained, monthly support—will strengthen the global equality movement.
