Bring Back VH1's I Love the Series

VH1's I Love the series not only sparked nostalgia for our parents but ignited a younger generations interest in past popular culture. I can easily trace back my interest in 80s music or 70s films to my exposure to I Love the 80s: Strikes Back and I Love the 70s. It also inspired two very dedicated years of my high school life in which I dressed like it was 1986. Radical? I think so.

We can't go without mentioning the hilarious commentary by VH1's talking head versions of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players. Hal Sparks, Rachael Harris, Mo Rocca, Loni Love, Michael Ian Black, Rich Eisen, Godfrey, Bil Dwyer, The Modern Humorist, and Patrice O'Neal (God rest his soul). To this day I still make references to the jokes they told on these shows.

"They were like, ‘Who shot J.R.?’ I was like, ‘Well, who’ll shoot the rest of them?’"

What we are just asking here is that VH1 replay, re-release, or simply make available online these treasured programs in their entirety. No more rehashed 30 minute Best of stuff. If they can bring back Best Week Ever they can bring back the I Love the series in one form or another.

If not for us, do it for the kids. Think of the children! So that the newest generation can be taught to "Walk like an Egyptian." So that next time I mention a Pet Rock that I don't get looked at like a crazy person. Where's the Beef? Not in 2013. Let's Strike Back!
