Icelandic Whalers Have Killed an Iconic and Endangered Blue Whale. Whaling Must End!

After a two-year-break, Iceland has commenced their sinister whale hunts once again. The nation had backed down from the annual event after international uproar. But this year, whaling company Hvalur, inc announced they would restart this year. The company announced that they would murder up to 200 endangered fin whales.

The hunts have already started and they were worse than anyone could have ever imagined. After snapping photos of some of the first kills, animal rights campaigners Hard To Port's have accused Hvalur of killing a blue whale. The largest living thing on the planet.

Blue whales were not on Hvalur's kill list, in fact, they are protected and have been since 1966 when the whaling industry nearly drove the cetacean to extinction.  According to reports, no one has killed a blue whale in 50 years.

Whaling is wrong in the first place, but the fact that a majestic blue whale has been killed makes the practice even more heartbreaking.

The Icelandic government needs to put a stop to this disgusting endeavor once and for all and with your help, we can perhaps convince them to do so. Please sign the petition and ask Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir to do what is right — put an end to whaling now.
