Tell Oregon Not to Prevent Sex Workers from Getting Food and Shelter!

Oregon's HB 4082 would expand the definition of sex trafficking with overly broad, vague language, putting consensual, adult sex workers and those who do any business at all with them at risk of prosecution and jail time.

If this bill passes, grocery stores accepting money from a sex worker and medical care providers could become "traffickers" in the eyes of the law! Oregon charities are technically already criminalized for providing services to sex workers, but this bill further criminalizes street workers and survival sex workers who may trade sex for food or shelter.

Please sign my petition to urge Oregon to vote NO on this bill!

The bill would change the definition of sex trafficking such that any person who receives "money, goods, or services" that are "derived from a prostitution activity" are subject to prosecution.

A slew of human rights orgs, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the United Nations Development Programme have recommended decriminalizing every aspect of adult consensual sex work. Why is Oregon stepping backwards? Sign the petition to fight back!
