Education funds continue to be on the chopping block in City and State governments. In an effort to "make ends meet", school districts across the country are looking at new ways to meet the needs of more students.
Education leaders and administrators believe the "baby boomers", the more experienced teachers at the top of the salary schedules, are the ones who are "draining" the education funds. These senior teachers are being evaluated at a higher and often much different (unfair) set of standards than their younger colleagues.
When a senior teacher retires, administrators know they can hire 2 or 3 new teachers in their place. Due to current economic conditions, teachers are choosing to teach longer to make their own "ends meet".
Many senior teachers across the country are experiencing numerous forms of harassment and abuse, in an effort to force them to quit. Administrators will use various tactics to harass and abuse teachers. They micromanage, intimidate, ridicule and attack teachers privately and often publicly, all in an effort to detroy the teacher's character and their career.
