End private ownership of multishot firearms.Single shot firearms sufficient for legal private use

By allowing only single shot firearms, the potential for mass shootings would be greatly reduced. Single shot firearms require the user to manually handle each bullet to reload after firing.  This would give victims time to flee and first responders time to intervene. The right to hunt would not be harmed and hunter safety would be improved.

Horrific mass shootings continue despite lackluster attempts to control firearms. The gun lobby has far too much power. There is no legitamate need for a private citizen to have the capability to fire off a deady barage of bullets in mere seconds. Both target shooting and hunting needs can be met with single shot firearms. Single shot firearms would encourage more resposible use by ensuring that firearm users are sure of their target and the surroundings.
