Tell California Lawmakers: Fix the Affordable Housing Crisis

It's easy to understand why so many people love California and call the state home. In fact, California currently makes up about 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.
However, due to the rising cost of living and lack of affordable housing, far too many Californians experience housing insecurity, rents they can't afford, or the prospect of leaving the state they call home.
In dozens of California communities, the housing crisis is jeopardizing our engines of economic and social progress.
The result: Skyrocketing homelessness; low-income families struggling with housing costs; teachers, police officers, nurses, and other vital service providers commuting long hours in spirit-breaking traffic; businesses struggling to attract workers; and the acrid pollution that clogs our air, sickens our children, and exacerbates climate change.
It's clear that an equitable California begins with abundant, secure, affordable housing, as well as protections for vulnerable renters and low- to middle-income communities.
We can—and must—overcome this housing crisis. It starts now, with you adding your voice to this movement.
Sign the petition today to urge California lawmakers to prioritize increased funding and protections for affordable housing—the future of California depends on it.
