Thank Starbucks for Their Groundbreaking Employee Education Program!

Sometimes working in food service seems like a dead end, but for Starbucks employees it could be the path to a bright future. The coffee giant has made history by striking a deal with Arizona State University to provide scholarship funds that will cover a significant part of the tuition for an online education.

Employees must apply and get accepted to ASU and work at least 20 hours a week at Starbucks. For freshmen and sophomores, the scholarships (in combination with student aid from government sources and from ASU), will cover about half the costs of tuition. With a view to encouraging them to complete their degrees, scholarships for juniors and seniors will cover the full costs of tuition not covered by financial aid.

Employees will be earning a real bachelor's degree in their chosen major, and may quit their jobs at Starbucks after finishing their course of study. Sign the petition to thank Starbucks for this generous gift that will open doors for so many of their workers. We hope this will inspire other corporations to do the same.

We, the undersigned, are writing to thank you for your innovative and generous offer to reimburse your employees for online courses with Arizona State University.

We especially appreciate your choice to let employees earn a degree in their chosen field, and your choice to give employees the freedom to pursue other careers after they graduate. This truly sets your program and business apart from the rest.

Again, thank you for giving your employees the valuable gift of an education. We wish other corporations were as generous with their employees as you.
