People with an intellectual disability are not powerless. But too often, they are made to feel that way because of common misconceptions, a lack of opportunities, and systems that are structured to leave them behind.
But at Special Olympics Canada, systems are built so that no one gets left behind. We know that intellectual disabilities do not deprive someone of their power, and they should never be made to feel that way.
Harnessing that power through sport, community, and competition, Special Olympics Canada athletes are able to explore their full capabilities and what it feels like when others recognize it!
Our nearly 50,0000 athletes find the strength to face any challenge in their path, whether it's on the field, court, track, or ice, and they use that strength to excel in life, far beyond the Special Olympic programs. Will you help us continue our mission to empower lives across Canada through opportunities in competitive sport?
