Call on California leaders to support Pandemic Recognition Bonuses for California’s struggling healthcare workers.

Healthcare workers are struggling. For over a year, these frontline workers have worked 12- and 14-hour shifts, six or seven days a week, sacrificing their own safety to save patients' lives. Many worked in hospitals that failed to provide enough masks and other protective equipment. Thousands of hospital workers lost their lives to COVID across the nation. 

Here in California, our state leaders have an opportunity to compensate frontline healthcare workers for their sacrifices. Other essential workers, including grocery store workers and prison guards, have already received bonuses for working in hazardous conditions throughout the pandemic. Healthcare workers deserve recognition, too.
