Hold nursing homes accountable - vote NO on Issue One

Imagine you had to make the heart wrenching decision to put your mother or father in a nursing home, only to learn later that while your family member was suffering, the nursing home's owners were cashing out, leaving you and your family in a bind.

It's not that far-fetched — it just happened here in Arkansas! Based on recent court filings, two out of state nursing home operators appear to have cared more about lining their own pockets than they did taking care of the residents they were charged to protect.

We trust nursing homes to take care of our most treasured and vulnerable family members and when nursing homes break that trust, they should be held accountable. If any amendment should be passed by the people of Arkansas, it should be one that protects our seniors here in Arkansas, not one that gives nursing home operators a "Get Out of Jail for Free" card the way that Issue 1 does.

Let's tell these Nursing Home owners to stop putting profits over people. Vote NO on Issue One.
