Romney: Millionaires Don't Deserve Bigger Tax Breaks Than The Middle Class

Romney reassures voters that he pays his dues when it comes to taxes, but the numbers don't lie: he earned a 20 million dollar investment income last year and still managed to pay a lower tax rate than workers earning just $50,000. Yet somehow, Romney still thinks this is fair play.

Romney defends his miniature 14% tax rate, claiming on 60 Minutes that it enables him to spur economic growth. Encouraging economic growth and giving handouts to the rich don't mean nearly the same thing, but Romney's managed to confuse the two.

He also continues to brag about his plan to cut tax rates across the board, which will supposedly give breaks to middle-class families. Many economists beg to differ, with reports stating that plans like Romney's "reduce taxes for high-income households, thus requiring higher taxes on other."

Middle-class taxpayers shouldn't be emptying their pockets so millionaires can profit. Tell Romney that American voters won't tolerate a wealthy-wins tax plan!
Dear Mitt Romney,

America's tax rates already favor the wealthy to a fault--so there's no way we will support your tax plan when it worsens the economic disparity disenfranchising so many middle-class workers.

You've got it backwards: it's working-class families that need tax breaks and millionaires that owe a tax rate increase. Preaching universal tax cuts and the revival of the working class will only get you so far when the numbers in your tax plan tell a harsh truth of inequality fueled by tax breaks to the rich.

When a 20 million dollar income sees a lower tax rate than 50 thousand dollar income, there is no denying the vast opportunity gaps sweeping American workers under the rug. Raising the already unfair tax rates for middle class workers is a step backward for the 99% of Americans that are waiting for the break they deserve.

Don't crush the middle class under disproportionately high tax rates!

Sincerely
