America Needs Universal Health Care!

The United States is the only industrialized nation that does not offer universal health care for its citizens. But we need it: We spend a higher percentage of our income on health care than any other country, but are uniformly at the bottom of the list when it comes to quality of care, access to care, wait times and efficiency of care.
Quality health care isn't just curing people when they're sick. Study after study has demonstrated the effectiveness of preventative care on increasing the quality of life-long health. With rising deductibles and co-pays, every American needs a financial break from the skyrocketing health care costs.

Dear Congressperson,
I am writing in support of a single-payer universal health care system in the United States. As costs skyrocket, it's time to move America in line with its industrialized neighbors in making health care available to everyone.
Studies suggest that the administrative costs are a whopping 24 percent of U.S. health care spending. Indeed, eliminating the overhead and paperwork costs of our current system could save $286 billion each year. We pay more money for worse care, and it's time to change that.
Universal health care opens up preventative treatment options to millions of uninsured, underinsured and middle-class Americans. Without high deductibles and co-pays, Americans would be more likely to visit their doctor for routine checkups, heading off major problems later in life.
