Stand with Joan and women like her fighting to build a better life!

Being a single mother can be challenging.
For Joan, a thirty-one year old single mom and domestic violence survivor from New York, pursuing an education and a better life for her family has been an ongoing struggle.
At the age of 22, with no family support, Joan was homeless with her 16 month old daughter in a New York City domestic violence shelter. For years, she struggled against an ongoing cycle of violence and substance use.
But Joan never gave up her dream of getting a good education and providing a stable life for herself and her daughter. In 2016 Joan was able to get her life on track with support from Services for the UnderServed (S:US). With help from her S:US Case Manager and Vocational Counselor, Joan was able to secure housing, access much needed counseling, to enroll in college, obtain stable employment, and re-establish a new norm for herself and her children. She's now maintaining a strong GPA and dreams of becoming a licensed practical nurse.
Across New York, there are many women like Joan, who would be able to thrive if they could access resources like supportive housing, case managers, and counselors. That's where S:US comes in.
If we stand together to support women like Joan and the work of S:US, we can help families across New York build a better, brighter future.
Add your name today to stand in solidarity with Joan and call for increased support for these vital resources!
