End Bullfighting in Spain

Bull fighting is an ancient but cruel tradition that has unfortunately endured in contemporary Spain. It consists of three stages, the first one of which the matador comes out and performs a series of passes to impress the crowd and enrage the bull. Then a man on horseback (a picador) comes out with a lance and will try to stab the bull in the back of the neck, weakening its neck muscles. The bull will try to attack the horse and become tired. In the second stage, three bullfighters will come out and each attempt to stick two sharp barbed sticks (banderillas) into the bull's back.
In the final stage the matador will enter the ring alone and perform another series of passes to tire out the bull and position it for the kill. The final stab to the bull is meant to be between the shoulder blades and through the heart. This is what occurs when the bullfight goes according to plan. However, in the final stage,  the matador will often fail to kill the bull on the first try. 
The entire event truly qualifies as torture for the bull and this is something that we cannot ignore as civilized human beings.
