Reforrestation to reduce Global Warming

Reforrestation to reduce global warming

The background for this issue is that deforrestation continues to threaten the stability of the planet and its inhabitants. To be able to provide enough oxygen, carbon sync, food and habitat, there has to be reforrestation on an international scale. There is presently an imbalance. With an increasing population reducing individual carbon footprints will have little effect. Without increasing the earths ability to absorb carbon emissions global warming will increase.

Government ministers leave this issue out of their election manifesto's aas they don't want to risk losing votes and party funding from land owners. As a result there is little in the way of media reporting on the issue.

In order to redress the balance I propose gradual tree "back planting" of uplands and field perimeters to combat warming by enhancing oxygen quality, increasing the world's carbon sink, providing shelter for domestic animals and increasing food and habitat for indigenous species.

This is an important issue because it is the lynch pin to Global Warming and protection of species issues. Governments could have summit meetings to change laws regarding the use of land by building in "protected zone" covenants applicable to all agricultural and industrial use. Such environmental laws could be imposed on existing land users by way of initial grant funding to initiate and encourage replanting. New conveyances would include the new environmental laws as mandatory legislation.
