Stop Bear Baiting in Pakistan!

Imagine a bear, tethered to a post, set upon by up to four trained fighting dogs.

Hundreds of people are watching.

The crowd knows that the tethered bear is suffering a further handicap. Its claws and teeth will have been removed, an agonising mutilation for which anaesthetic is rarely used.

The contest lasts for three rounds. As the dogs are encouraged to attack, the bear will tire and weaken, until it is unable to remain upright.

This is when the bear's face and neck become vulnerable to the dog's teeth. They hang from the bear's mouth and lips as they try to drag it to the floor.

Most bears are permanently scarred, but the killing of either animal is avoided. They are too valuable. The bears live on to suffer further at the hands of their owners.

Charities like the WSPA are working day in, day out, to try to stop this illegal, unnecessary, act of cruelty. But they need help.

Please sign this petition to stop such a barbaric sport from carrying on!

We the undersigned, would be appreciative if you could help us end this illegal and barbaric bear baiting act once and for all in Pakistan. The partakers in this 'sport' need to be educated and taught that there is a better way of life waiting for them. If we can give them these opportunities we can be rid of this cruel practice, and enable these bears to have a better life they deserve after enduring so much suffering. We hope that you feel the same way about this matter and that this petition puts it into perspective how passionate we are about being rid of this unnecessary  torture. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
