Chinese Fur Farms

Where animals are being skinned alive, bludgeoned, stomped on and subjected to inconceivable living conditions

Racoon dogs, foxes, minks, rabbits, dogs, cats... These animals endure tortured lives and face excruciatingly painful deaths.

PETA (US) reports:

When the fur is finally peeled off over their heads, their hairless, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals’ hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned. 

There is currently NO legislation or penalties for the torture of these innocent animals in China, many of which are domesticated pets stolen from their backyards.

Many countries have already taken a stand to stop this abuse by breaking the chain of supply and demand in their country.

• United Kingdom, Austria, Croatia and Switzerland have eradicated fur farms or are currently phasing them out.
• New Zealand has banned the importation of Mink fur.

Although Australia has animal welfare legislation, it has NOT taken any similar action to prevent the suffering of these animals, and still allows the importation of fur products.

With your help, we plan to pressure the Chinese government to introduce legislation and terminate the existence of fur farms.

 In Australia we want to ban the importation of all furs, particularly due to the deceptive mislabeling of fashion items – you could be wearing a cat or a dog without even knowing it.
