In South Africa, there is a traditional practice of killing bulls at the annual First Fruits Festival.  Read story at http://www.peta.org/action/action-alerts/bulls-torn-apart-barbaric-zulu-ritual-take-action/?utm_campaign=111315%20PETA%20E-News&utm_source=PETA%20E-Mail&utm_medium=E-News

According to the information, the First Fruits Festival is held each first Saturday of December in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is a cultural event to celebrate the coming of age of Zulu warriors.

The concern is that during this “celebration,” people as young as 14 are allowed to kill a bull using their bare hands.  The attack typically involves about 40 young men who gouge out the eyes of the bull, forcing sand and mud down their throats, twisting their genitals in addition to beating and tearing the flesh off their bodies!

Our goal through this petition is to urge the President of the country to place a strict ban against the practice of killing these bulls, especially as a ritual at the First Fruits Festival.  You can help us in our efforts to stop this clear abuse of bulls by signing and sharing this petition.

President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma – We strongly urge you to place a full and strict ban on the killing of bulls, especially at the First Fruits Festivals, ensuring full enforcement of the ban. This is a clear case of inhumane abusive treatment of the animals.  Animals like these bulls all deserve humane treatment and respect.
