In August of 2011 in Saginaw, Detroit resident Randy DeJarnette allegedly tortured a cat named Gabriella. He has since turned himself in and, at the end of this August, was arraigned on on one count of killing or torturing an animal and one count of domestic violence second offense.
Under Michigan law, a person shall not without just cause "knowingly kill, torture, mutilate, maim, or disfigure an animal" or commit reckless acts with knowledge that they will cause the same.
The charge of animal torture carries a maximum penalty of four years in prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000. The chargre of domestic violence second offense is punishable by up to a year in jail, a fine of up to $1,000 or both.
DeJarnette needs to be given the maximum penalty for animal abuse!

I survived multiple fractured ribs, 2 broken rear legs, 2 fractured vertebral processes and head trauma from multiple traumatic incidences of torture...for 9 months, I LIVED IN TERROR...I have NO VOICE...I am loved now but need YOUR help...PLEASE sign and SHARE this petition to let animal abusers know that YOU have ZERO TOLERANCE for ABUSE...because EVERY LIFE MATTERS...Thank you!

Today we reached over 10,000 signatures. I raised the number to 20,000. I have no doubt in my mind that we can find 100,000 people who want the maximum penalty for this vile human being.
