On July 1, 2014, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, construction workers spotted a brown pit bull with gruesome wounds on his back, which looked like he was drug behind a car. A suspect came by the site looking for the dogs, and while the workers called the authorites....the man fled. He is suspected to be driving a blue Jeep Cherokee, around 30 years of age.
This is a disgusting act of animal cruelty and it makes my heart ache. I passed the dirt road he was committing this crime on every night to take my boyfriend back to his house. I didn't know this was happening, and it was someone living so close to me.
Animal abuse and animal cruelty needs to have SERIOUS consequences. People can not get away with this. Animals are not on this earth as our property, we do not own them. They are loving, sentient beings who deserve to live a life free of pain.
The dog was rounded up from the site and taken to the Free to Live Animal Sanctuary in Guthrie, Oklahoma. His name is Simpson, named after the road he was found on. He will stay at Free to Live to recover from his wounds and hopefully find a wonderful new home.
