KFC: Stop Antibiotics Use in Chicken!

The fast food industry is hardly linked with animal welfare or healthy eating, but many companies are trying to improve in both areas. Recently, the owner of Tim Hortons and Burger King announced plans to stop using antibiotics in their chicken.

Antibiotics make chickens resistant to disease, which speeds up production and increases profits for factory farms. But we now know that overuse of the drugs causes resistant bacteria ("superbugs") to build up in animals. The superbugs are then transmitted to the humans who eat them.

Eliminating antibiotics in chickens is clearly in the best interests of human health. McDonalds has already eliminated antibiotics from their suppliers, and Wendy's plans to do so later this year. KFC is one of the last major fast food chains who hasn't announced plans to phase out antibiotics.

Please sign the petition to urge KFC to create a plan to end antibiotics use in their supply chains!

I am concerned that you haven't made plans to eliminate antibiotics in your chickens. Recently, the owner of Tim Hortons and Burger King announced plans to stop using antibiotics in their chicken.

I urge you to create a plan to end antibiotics use in your supply chains. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this petition.
