Demand protections to save the Stellar Sea Lions

The Stellar sea lions are amazing creatures. Beautiful, graceful and fun loving. Two stocks are recognized for Steller sea lions - an Eastern Stock and a Western Stock. Under the ESA, they are considered "Distinct Population Segments" or DPS. The Eastern DPS is listed as "THREATENED", and the Western DPS is listed as "ENDANGERED". A female only has one pup a year. Making repopulating slow. 

 These wonderful animals are falling through the cracks. If protections are not put in place immediately they will no longer swim our seas, will no longer lay on our beaches. We demand that better laws be put in place to protect them. We want less offshore drilling for oil and gas. As it is destroying their homes. We want their habitats protected. We are asking for better protection against illegal hunters be put in place. More stringent laws with higher fines and strict penalties.
