Australia- Stop Killing Baboons for Pointless Experiments

Eight aging baboons were killed in the course of reseach approved by University of New South Wales Ethics Committee; for experminent that had been performed 20 years ealier, and yeilded no new results.

The baboons had the tendons in their sholders cut, simply to study healing rates.

Humane Research Australia's CEO Helen Marston said, "The final conclusion was a recommendation that excessive tension on the repair site should be avoided for at least 12 weeks, hardly a new revelation, and one that is already well known and documented by orthopaedic surgeons around the world."

We ask University of New South Wales, Animal Care and Ethics Committee to stop approving primate vivesection and cease funding these cruel and unnecessary experiments.
