Small changes can yield large results; it's about gathering intertia in finally taking care of our home, mother earth. American Express has decided to create their credit cards from upcycled
ocean plastic. This is such a good example of a corporation trying to use their power to make a change. Now it's time for other plastic card creators to follow suit.
Starbucks produces an incredible amount of plastic gift cards and they should decide to make all of them out of ocean plastic.Because gift cards from Starbucks can be in such small amounts, they are one of the most popular gift cards out there. In fact, one holiday season they sold
1,700 gift cards per minute! But that means that $5 gift cards get used once and then thrown out - what a waste!
Starbucks recently decided to ban plastic straws, given that they aren't necessary for the majority of people and they are single use. So we know Starbucks is open to making changes that benefit our earth. Now we need to convince them to make this change!
The more companies pay to do this, the more plastic that will be pulled from the ocean and used again. We are the consumers here, we have the power. We must force corporations to create industry and incentive around ocean clean up.
