Ban Animal-Tested Cosmetics in Australia

It is illegal in Australia to test cosmetics on animals – as it has been for over a decade.
Yet millions of animals are still experimented on with the most popular and controversial products, because there are no laws prohibiting their importation from other countries' laboratories.
The European Union took a massive leap forward in 2009, and enacted a ban on animal-tested cosmetics altogether, no matter where they were produced. This came with a swift impact for manufacturers, who were forced to stop testing products on animals in order to stay afloat.
Australia has every reason to take that vital step, and finish what the current legislation has already started.
Write to the Australian Government, and urge them to follow Europe's compassionate lead, by banning the sale and importation of animal-tested cosmetics.
