Stop Lying To Our Children about Factory Farms & Industrial Agriculture: Tell Encana, the Calgary Bo

Aggie Days is a fraud.

Encana is the anchor sponsor of Calgary Stampede's "Industrial" Aggie Days. The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) promotes this event to over 100,000 of our children and students. Encana's Aggie Days are a misleading, fraudulent and deceptive portrayal of our food production system. Aggie Days is an organized effort by industry to lie to our children about the horrific conditions farm animals are subjected to in order to feed us. Tell Encana, the CBE, The Calgary Stampede & Aggie Days to Stop Lying To Our Children about Factory Farms.

Dear Encana, Calgary Board of Education & Calgary Stampede,

Please stop lying to our children about Factory Farms & Industrial Agriculture.

Aggie Days are a misleading, fraudulent and deceptive portrayal of our food production system that targets our children.

Four simple requests:

1. Start telling the truth. Factory Farms are horrific. Industrial Agriculture is not sustainable.

2. Calgary Stampede: Stop denying local, ethical, sustainable and just food organizations and individuals from participating in Aggie Days.

3. Calgary Board of Education: Stop promoting these lies to our students.

4. Encana: Reconsider your involvement in spreading these lies to our children. This is not "Environmental Stewardship" as stated on your corporate website.

For facts, we encourage you to google "Factory Farms", "Industrial Ag" and then review the exhibitors list of The Calgary Stampede Aggie Days. Exhibits display very young farm animals in a fictionalized setting. Industrial Ag exhibits tell our children that chemicals, herbicides, insecticides & fossil fuel fertilizers are good for us, the environment and are sustainable.

If you truly respect our children, stop lying to them and tell the truth.
