21-year-old Jose Vega Meza from Arizona was tired of asking his roommate to pay her side of the rent. To make things worse, she was moving out and the rent was past due and he didn't expect her to pay.
So he thought of a twisted way to make her pay one way or the other.
As his roommate was moving out of their shared Buckeye, Arizona home and loading things into her truck, he snuck a small box into the vehicle. When she finally found it, she opened the suspicious package to check what was inside and was shocked to find her pet dog's headless body.
When police arrived, they arrested and booked him on suspicion of animal cruelty and that's when he admitted to killing the dog. Then he went on to confess to having killed more neighborhood animals, including drowning a cat in its own cage.
Mr. Vega Meza is clearly an individual that must be taken off the streets. His crimes are vile and he poses a threat not only to animals, but also humans. In fact, Studies show that those that commit animal abuse are likely to resort to violence against humans eventually. Punishment for animal cruelty in AZ carries a minimum of six months in prison. He deserves to spend every day of those months behind bars.
