Tell the Federal Government to keep Australia as a global innovation leader

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) is a world-class research facility that has funded hundreds of innovative renewables projects across Australia; delivering thousands of jobs, billions of dollars in investment value, and driving down clean energy costs.

But after millions of dollars were cut from ARENA in 2016, their funding will completely run dry within a year. Without ARENA, Australia has no long-term plan to take us beyond 2020 – we have no policy to address the energy transition and combat climate change. 

Now, more than ever, Australia is facing growing demands for clean energy solutions and ARENA is the innovation centre that can deliver long-term cost-saving measures for households and create meaningful, ongoing work opportunities.

We're calling on the Federal Government to save ARENA and preserve Australia's place as a global innovation leader by:

• Restoring the $460 million of ARENA funding in the 2020 budget.
• Developing a long-term funding strategy for ARENA to 2030.
