That is how Yahoo News prefaced its article, and that is how we will preface it to you. This is the story of a beloved cat named Donkey and how he was almost killed.
Donkey and his family live on the Gold Coast of Australia in the town of Coomera. Earlier this week, Donkey's owners came home to find him in a
shocking state. He was bleeding from his bottom, it looked as if someone had sexually assaulted him. When his owners took him to the clinic, the vet confirmed their worst fears. Someone had likely penetrated the cat's rectum with an object.
The damage was so severe that he will have to see the vet every two days. Donkey was adopted more than eight years ago by a family that loves him and now they are doing everything they can to make sure he pulls through.
But while the family works to save his life, animal lovers must make sure the police do everything they can to find the person that did this. This is not a case that can be swept under the rug. It should be a priority because no one knows what Donkey's assailant is capable of next.
