Tell the EPA: It Is Time To Clean Up Climate Pollution From Cars

In a major step forward for cleaner cars, the EPA has announced its intention to reinstate long-standing authority for states, like California, to set their own greenhouse gas emissions standards for cars and light trucks.

Reinstating California's climate action authority — and that of the other states that choose to adopt California's standards — is an important first step on the road to a safe and stable climate. States must be able to protect their residents from the carbon pollution contributing to the climate crisis and threatening their health.

EPA will accept written comments into the public docket on California's car standards until July 6, 2021. Take this important opportunity to demand cleaner cars for our families' health.
As a parent, I strongly support reinstating California's 2013 Clean Air Act waiver, which gives states the authority to protect their families from climate pollution. Climate change is a crisis that threatens our children's health and future. It is incumbent upon our leaders to act now to protect us from climate change, and one of the most important areas in need of action is the transportation sector, the largest source of climate pollution in the US. Reinstating California's authority to take action — and that of the other states that choose to adopt California's standards — is an important step forward in fighting climate change. It will help pave the way for the strong national standards that we need to clean up climate pollution from cars and trucks. States must be able to protect their residents from the carbon dioxide pollution that is contributing to the climate crisis and threatening our health.
